about

Go Peacefully (Barbara's song) was written to express in lyrical form natures cycle of life and death and the desire to want to find a way to reverse or stop it. The song was motivated by a family sadness over an aunt's battle with cancer. The reference to the honey-coloured liqud was a symbolic way to express a desire to find an alchemist to help take this horrible disease away.

lyrics

Go Peacefully, into that night
Don’t let the shadows hide you
Turn your face towards the moonlight
This day is over, this day is over
This day is over

He kneels beside me, I touch his sleeve
See the pot of honey coloured liquid
He is stirring, then his eyes close
This day is over, the day is over
This day is over, oh oh oh oh
The night begins for us

So we run run run run run run run
So we run run run run run run run run
We are numbers, and we are hunters too
While you are sleeping
We watch you

For us desert foxes, the night must end
The eagle owl is watching as we tiptoe over cold sand
Our time is over, our time is over

And your eyes blink slowly
Your pale and white, locked inside
She doesn’t feel the pain that’s on the outside
Our side, her day is over
Her night is over, her time is over
